Montserrat!

Montserrat is an utterly breathtaking series of mountains located around an hour’s train ride from Barcelona. Perched high in the mountains, which are only accessible by cable car, are a series of chapels all connected by beautiful winding trails.

Word of advice: don’t leave your exit until after the funiculars have closed, unless you want to have the absolute enjoyment of sprinting half way down the mountain to catch the final cable car back to far more hospitable altitudes.
